_____2000 rocked the music industry... Performing artists- major AND independent alike- were united by a common goal: their RIGHTS. Many utilized media, word of mouth, music as well as their personal sites to educate the general public. Jenny Toomey, Courtney Love, Sheryl Crow and Prince are but a few of the better known performers who devoted time to publicizing artists issues. After nearly a year of organized protests, petitions as well as pressure, Senate reinstated the 35 year copyright return on the Work For Hire in October. Though a moderate victory, the Work For Hire (and the power of the Internet!) signified the beginning of a new era for artists.

_____In 2001, AERO plans revise the Artists' Equal Rights Petition and has chosen to focus on three objectives: obtaining grants to improve the site as well as implement artist programs, establishing a legal aid network for performers and developing a viable format for the first ever radio program to release new music from major, indie and virtual artists alike.
We're pleased to see how AERO has grown over the last six months and look forward to expanding our efforts soon.
Peace, progress, thanks and love to each and every one of you... all the best and brightest!
